Mahogany writing table in the style of Gillows by George Oakley, London. It has two cock beaded frieze drawers with tuned wooden knobs, a shaped gallery on three sides, elegant turned and reeded legs ending in brass casters. Victorian Bamboo Fall Front Desk

Late 19th century Victorian faux tortoise shell bamboo fall-front desk. The fall front becomes a writing slope and when it is open it reveals stationery compartments with bamboo hanging hooks, narrow recesses to each side with shelves, above three frieze drawers, raised on outswept legs joined by a stretcher. Period Hepplewhite mahogany free standing writing/centre table with mahogany cross-banding on top and molded edge. The two cock-beaded drawers have original gilded handles. The molding has a small beading at the bottom of the carcass to emphasize the the break with the leg. The tapering legs end in brass square cup casters. The finished back has two faux drawers.
